Fall Layers

This fall weather is beautiful! I just love the colors of the trees during the fall. This weekend is our second annual Girl Cousins Weekend visiting my cousin Becca at her college Virginia Tech. Last year we drove down during the fall and it was the most beautiful drive. We got to spend time together and we went to the football game, which was a blast! This weekend we are going to the VT football game. I can't wait to spend time with my cousins! :) Much needed girl cousin time!

Tonight is trick or treat and I can't wait to pass out candy to the little ones and seeing all their cute costumes! :) Bear is ready for trick or treat in his skull and cross bones scarf. :) Tomorrow is the Halloween Parade and Parties at our school. The teacher's are all dressing up like "Where's Waldo?" It's going to be so fun and my very first classroom party. Any advice? :)

Polka Dot Chambray from StitchFix similar to this for $11.97.
White Floral Textured Sweatshirt from Kohl's for $36.99.
Multi-Color Necklace from Kohl's for $17.99.

Mis-Matched Clothes Day!

This is late, but a couple of weeks ago we had "Mis-Matched Clothes Day" at school. Our student council makes spirit days throughout the school year to celebrate our school spirit. This was the first spirit day they planned! It was fun to pick out as many patterns as I could to wear. Ha! The students got pretty creative with their outfits too! It was fun!

The next spirit day is Flash Back Friday! We get to choose between the 70's 80's or 90's! I can't wait! I love spirit days! :)

What fun spirit days or dress up days do you have at your school?

Happy Halloween Week!

I was warned last week by some veteran teachers that this week would be the craziest week of the year...meaning the kids would be the craziest! They will be on a sugar high all week! We have our town's Halloween Parade on Tuesday and Trick or Treat is on Thursday and our school's Halloween Parade and parties are on Friday. Lots and lots of sugar will be consumed! Ha! I have a lot of fun things planned, so hopefully they will be motivated to learn because it will be fun! :)

What excited things do you have going on this Halloween Week?

Leopard scarf from TJ Maxx similar to this for $16.
Michael Kors Orange Tunic Sweater from TJ Maxx similar to this for $19.80.

Conferences and Teacher Survival Kit!

Tonight is our last conference night. Yay! I survived my first parent teacher conferences!! I don't know why I was so nervous meeting the parents. They were all so kind. My favorite comments were when they would say they hear all about Miss Disbrow at home and how I'm their favorite teacher. Ha! Melts my heart <3

I feel that you have to dress a little more professional for conferences because you want to make a good impression. This is what I wore to conferences last week. You can never go wrong with black and white. It's so classy and professional!

Field Trip!

Last week we went on a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch! Our students had a blast! They got to pick pumpkins, go on a hay ride, taste apple cider, and pick an apple from the apple trees. They also got to see animals and play in a Hay Maze. They got to do so much in the short amount of time that we were there. On a field trip, teachers have to carry quite a few things so one of my co-teachers said a backpack is a smart idea because then you are hands free. That's exactly what I did! I used my cute Vera Bradley backpack and planned my outfit around it. It was the perfect outfit because I wasn't hot or cold. I felt just right! Perfect fall weather!

Polka Dot Denim Jacket from JC Penny similar to this for $25.58.
J Crew blue vest from Ebay similar to this for $58.50.
Khaki Skinny Jeans from Wet Seal similar to this for $29.
Brown and Black boots from Kohl's similar to these for $42.99.

Hay Ride Selfie!

Field trips are so much fun and we were lucky to have perfect weather. It was a little muddy in the pumpkin patch, but we had a blast!!!

Thrifting!

Happy Monday!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I finally got over my nasty cold, so I actually felt like doing things. I went to our local Goodwill with one of my best friends Annah. We scored on some great things!!! I love going with her because she helps me find great things! She's a PRO when it comes to thrift shopping. Not only did we find some great things shopping, but we also got to catch up. I missed her so much!

This is what I wore:

Ralph Lauren Striped Tee from TJ Maxx similar to this for $9.
American Eagle dark purple vest from Poshmark similar to this for $39.99.
Guess Boyfriend Jeans from Gabe's similar to these for $36.94.

Tonight I have a New Teacher Reception to go to. I'm very excited to celebrate my new first grade position with all the other new teachers in the district. Our school district is so good to us. I'm so blessed to work where I do and with all of the amazing teachers who have become such good friends of mine. :)

Parent Teacher Conferences

We have parent teacher conferences the next few weeks and our first ones were this past Thursday! These were my first parent teacher conferences because last year I wasn't a classroom teacher and no one asked to conference with me. I was really nervous, but they are going so well so far. It's hard to talk about everything in 20 minutes. I feel a little rushed doing them. I had four parents not show up....is that normal? I sent home conference confirmations and conference reminders!!! Ha!

Gold necklace from Kohl's similar to this for $28.50.
Striped Dress from Gabe's similar to this for $30.
Tan and Black flats from TJ Maxx similar to these for $49.99.

This week we read "Spookley The Square Pumpkin" and the students chose what shaped pumpkin would be the best and they had to explain why. I got this cute activity HERE.

What fun Halloween activities are you doing in your classroom?
What do you wear to Parent Teacher Conferences?

NEW CAR!

This past week was a big week for me and I was so so busy. I got a new car!!!!! I officially feel like a grown up! It was a little hard saying goodbye to my very first car. As I was cleaning it out the night before I got my new car, my brother and I were reminiscing about all the memories in that little two door Honda. My brother said "It just smells like high school in this car." We found so many CD's that had tons of memories too. It was so much fun! I love my new car! It makes me feel so grown up! It's so beautiful inside and out. :)

Blue and White Striped Jacket from Gap similar to this for $34.99.
Pearl Necklace from Kohl's for $15.60.
Red Pants from StichFix similar to these for $29.

My new grown up car!!!!

How did you feel when you got a new car and had to let go of your first car when you got your driver's license?

I hope you all had a great weekend!!!
