Walking in a Tulle Wonderland

Today, Miss Renaaye and I are flaunting our absolute favorite holiday look, TULLE SKIRTS! We knew we wanted to do tulle skirts and we both LOVE Christmas, so we had to make it a holiday outfit. Printed Leggings!

We had so much snow this weekend, that we had a 2-hour delay this morning. I enjoyed sleeping in an extra two hours. I have been exhausted lately and I think I'm catching a cold. I need to make it go away before Christmas gets here!!!

Last week, we got new carpet in our entire upstairs. Moving furniture in and out of rooms all week, made me to be sore and tired. Thank goodness Wally came to help us a lot. One night, I had to sleep in my brother's room and I couldn't even get to my clothes. I came to school feeling like a plain Jane that day. It was all worth it though, because the new carpet is gorgeous.

Over the weekend, I got all of my Christmas shopping finished!! We were snowed in on Saturday, so my mom and I went out Sunday. I feel very good knowing I have all of my shopping done. Anyone else finished Christmas shopping??

My cozy outfit of the day!

I helped lead an Elf Scavenger Hunt game. Also, they had a huge raffle for different themed baskets. All of the girl students were going crazy over the American Girl Doll basket and One Direction basket. The boys were crazy about the Duck Dynasty basket and the Legos Basket. Holiday Houndstooth

Today, our students had a scheduled 2-hour delay. The teachers had a meeting and training. I was a little jealous of our students haha. This year the staff is required to take a two hour youth suicide prevention course. It was a pretty depressing way to start off the day, but I would do anything to prevent that from ever happening to our kids.

Do all teachers carry huge purses and bags everywhere you go? I feel like I'm always carrying the biggest bags with everything in them, but it's still very organized. I can't stand when I can't find that one thing I need when I'm digging through my bags. Ha. It still happens, even when it's organized. When I was trying on clothes the other day, I noticed my shoulder was red and then I realized it was my huge purse. Ha. Does this happen to anyone else?

Last night we put our tree up and decorated our house! We are officially ready for the holidays!

Happy December!!!

This is my most favorite month of the whole year. I look forward to it all year long!! Christmas is my all time favorite holiday. I just love everything about it and I love the comfort and happiness it brings. The traditions are so memorable and new traditions are fun too. Last year we started the tradition of doing a Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt on Christmas Eve after church! It was so much fun, we are doing it again this year. New traditions we are starting this year is a Secret Santa gift exchange in our family. I'm excited! Also, we are doing an Ugly Sweater Christmas with my family and all of my relatives. I'm anxious to see what everyone wears. Ha!

Today, was the first day back to school after Thanksgiving Break. I missed my kids so much and the teachers. It was so good to see them and all of the Christmas decorations around the school. I will post pictures of my room sometime this week. :) I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving Break! I spent mine in Texas with my dad and my brothers!! Playing with Dot's & Plaid

Today, I'm pairing up with Renee from Let's Talk Fashion to style plaid and polka dots. We both did very different looks, but I love them both for this season. I have always LOVED Renee's sweet and fun personality. Her style is always original and so chic. Her blog was one of the first ones I found and fell in love with, when I started blogging. We have many things in common besides our love for fashion. We love our dogs a little too much, our anniversary with our boyfriends (well her fiance now) is on the same day, we love shopping for a great deal, etc. She is such a huge inspiration not only in fashion, but she is going back to school to pursue her dream. I'm so thankful (it's the month of thankfulness) for Renee and I'm thankful that she asked me to do this collaboration with her.

Everyone go check out her blog, Let's Talk Fashion! I promise you will look at it and immediately get inspired!

Okay now on to the outfit details. How much do you love her plaid scarf and cobalt blue tights from Old Navy?? She got the scarf on SALE too! The pop of blue definitely makes her outfit look like perfection. I'm loving colored tights right now! Seeing her tights, I can't wait to wear mine! Adding the polka dot pencil skirt and booties to her outfit shows it's sophisticated and classy. I love everything about her look!

Camo Style!

We had a crazy wind storm last night. I was so worried about Wally driving home from work in it. He's safe don't worry! Our temperatures yesterday were oddly warm. It didn't feel right, but it was nice until we had a tornado watch. I'm terrified of bad storms and tornadoes. I always tell Wally that whenever we get a house it MUST HAVE a basement to keep us safe from bad storms. Are any of you afraid of tornadoes??

I spent my weekend Christmas shopping and spending time with my parents. My mom and I bought a tree and decorations for my classroom. I can't wait to put them up. Then, Pat, mom, and I went to Salvation Army (we call it "Salvo") and got some ugly Christmas sweaters for our "1st Annual Ugly Sweater Family Christmas" this year! They are pretty tacky! Haha! It was so fun picking them out. Lots of laughs!

Pat took his girls out to dinner Saturday night. We went to Olive Garden! YUM! While we were there, I overheard a couple talking about how everyone is putting up their Christmas decorations so early this year and how they were ready to put up there's too. Everyone is just ready to have something to be happy about! The holiday cheer is definitely spreading!!! Is everyone around your town decorating for Christmas already too??

Tuesday we had our first snow delay of the school year! It was nice to sleep in an extra two hours and drive to work when it was so bright and sunny out instead of in the dark, early morning.

Happy Veterans Day!!!

Today, is Veterans Day and I'm so thankful for those who have served and are still serving our country today. At my school we have a pretty big Veterans Day program where many veterans from all over come and we decorate our school from top to bottom for them. We have the band play songs for the veterans. Our students sing songs and give speeches for them. We cook and serve them lunch. It's a busy busy day! I made pasta salad and I got the recipe from A Small Pickle blog and I made cranberry bliss bars and I found the recipe on Pinterest. One song that our students are singing is "I'm Proud to be an American" and it brings a tear to my eye every time.

I'm going orange and black for the week! It's Halloween week, which means crazy and excited students!! We read scary stories today in class. The kids loved it even though they really weren't very scary, so they all felt so cool saying "That's not scary!!". Today is our small town's Halloween Parade, which is always a popular event. I remember going every year as a kid and everyone throws candy to you and you get to wear your costume. One year, I had the flu and couldn't go and I felt like it was the end of the world because it's so much fun. This weekend I drove 8 hours with my cousin to Virginia Tech where our other cousin goes to school. Driving through the mountains in the fall was absolutely gorgeous. The weather could not have been more perfect. We had an absolute blast!!! It was fun to be a college student again for a weekend. We went to the football game and it was so much fun!!! We learned all of their cheers, did the "Hokey Pokey" and almost lost our voices screaming so much. It's fun to go on road trips!

I have always seen those JustFab shoe commercials where the girls are screaming about $39.95 for a pair of shoes. Well, I thought $39.95 is pretty expensive for one pair of shoes (for me anyways). I was browsing on Facebook one day and I saw that they were having a deal where you buy 2 pairs for $39.95. I got a pair of boots and these neon flats for $39.95 at JustFab.com! A Sweet Weekend!

I hope everyone had a sweet weekend because Sweetest Day was on Saturday. If you have never heard of Sweetest Day before, it's a holiday that Hallmark came up with just to make some money. Wally and I never really celebrate it, but every year I bake sweets for my sweet on Sweetest Day! :) This year I made Camouflage Cupcakes and it was so much fun and Wally was very impressed. He loved them not only because they were camo, but because they tasted "deeeeelish" (his words exactly).
