Summer Vacation

Oh Hello,

I'm just over here enjoying my summer vacation!!! We only have two weeks left until school, so I decided I needed to get you all caught up on what I've been doing this summer. It's been a busy summer filled with traveling, nannying, and wedding planning!! I have loved every minute of it, but I'm so excited for school to start back up again. :)

First, I said YES to the dress!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom and I drove down to Cincinnati, Ohio where they have an entire road filled with bridal boutiques. They call it "Bridal Row". I had already looked up the stores online, so I knew which ones I really wanted to go to. We only had to go to one because I found the dress of my dreams!!!  We went to Wendy's Bridal and I picked out 6 dresses to try on, but I knew in my head the one that was my favorite. The bridal consultant said it was her favorite too. She helped me put that one on first and I felt like it was even more than I could have ever imagined for my wedding dress. I came out of the dressing room grinning from ear to ear to where my mom was sitting. I stood up on the pedestal and the bridal consultant "jacked me up" (Yes, I love the show Say Yes to the Dress!). As soon as she put the veil on me my mom started tearing up and my jaw hit the floor. We both knew I didn't need to try on any more dresses.
White floral necklace from Amazon for $18.99.
Navy Eyelet top from TJ Maxx similar to this for $29.98.
Red Skinny Jeans from StitchFix similar to these for $44.97.
Brown Flats from Payless similar to these for $16.99.
Navy and White Striped bag from Kohl's similar to this for $24.90.

After I said YES to the dress!!!!

Then, I went on vacation with Colin's family to the Outer Banks. They go every summer, but this was my first time going with them and I had never been to the Outer Banks! We had an absolute blast and it was perfect weather every single day!!!

Neon Coral Dress is from Gabe's
Ombre Turquoise necklace is from Kohl's

We celebrated my beautiful cousin Emily's high school graduation!!!!! She's off to college to be a Vet! She will do amazing things!!

Necklace, top, and skirt are all from K-Mart!!!!!!

Next, I went to Texas to visit my dad and my brothers for a few days. It's always so much fun visiting and catching up with them. My step-mom took me to the spa for an afternoon of pampering. It was awesome! I got a massage, manicure, pedicure, and my hair styled. :)

Then, I spent the 4th of July at the lake with my family and Colin. We watched the fireworks on the boat. So fun!!

I also, asked all of my bridesmaids and matron of honor to be in our wedding. They all said YES!!!! I'm so excited for them to be a part of Colin and I's special day!!! This is how I asked them.....

The totes are from Hobby Lobby and they each have their initial on them. I also attached little tags that I wrote on with a gold pen. :)

Last night, Colin and I attended one of his friend from college's wedding. It was beautiful. I feel like I look at weddings with a whole different perspective now that I'm actually planning one. It was so fun to really look at all the details.

The next two weeks will be filled with getting my classroom ready for school!!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!! I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer. It has gone too fast this year!!!

  1. Sounds like a very exciting summer! I've spent all of July and probably August at school. I taught summer school and moved into a small classroom. I don't feel like I've had a summer. We went to the OBX, too. When were you there? We went in the middle of June when it was extremely HOT! 97 with a heat index of 108! Too hot for the beach. :( Have a good school year!
