I Worry Too Much!

One of the worst habits that I have is worrying too much! I worry about a lot of things and then I think back and ask myself, "Why was I so worried?". My worry usually leads to stress and my stress leads to an emotional break down (YES I'M A GIRL! Haha!). Do any of you have the same problem?

Things that I am worried about recently:
1. Being a good MOH- I am the maid of honor for my very best friend who I have known for 17 years!! We grew up across the street from each other! We went to the same college and were roommates. We have been through everything together. Now, I get to watch her become a wife (Wow! I'm tearing up just talking about it! I'm such a girl!). I worry about if my speech will be good enough or if I'll cry the entire time and no one will understand a word of it (I hate giving speeches unless it's to 20+ little kids! Haha!), if I am doing enough for her, if I'm doing a good job, etc. I've never done this before and I want everything to be perfect for her. Any advice from experienced MOH's??

She carried me down the aisle at our graduation!

2. Being a good substitute teacher- I have seen that teachers fill out evaluations about substitute teachers, but we never get to see them! I always wish I knew if they thought I did a good job or what I could do better. The only way I know is if they request me to sub for them again or they tell me I'm doing a good job. I'm a person who NEEDS feedback!!!! Do I worry too much?

3. Finding a teaching job- It's getting to be that time of year again, where I need to start filling out applications (my favorite..NOT). I worry so much that I won't get a job. The teaching world is so hard! In the state of Ohio, they keep changing things, where we need more and more to be qualified to teach. Now, they say you need a Reading Endorsement. Do I go back to school for it or do I wait? I already went back and got the 4th and 5th Grade Endorsement, so I'm certified to teach Pre-K through 5th grade now! I thought that would help me get a job, but now I don't know because of this Reading Endorsement thing. I honestly can say I am so glad I subbed this year, for sure!! It has honestly made me a better teacher all around and has exposed me to so many more schools, experiences, and different ways of teaching!! I have LOVED it!!! I'm ready to have my own classroom though! I hope I find a job...

4. Not knowing what the future holds- I worry so much about not knowing what the future will bring. Where will I get a job? Will I get a job? If so, what grade will I teach? Will I be subbing again next year? Will I have to move? Will Colin get a good job and have to move? The list goes on...

Okay enough of my worrying..I'm sorry for venting about my worries. Sometimes it feels good to tell someone or my blogger friends. Thank you for listening. By the way, every school around here had a snow day except our city schools (It's not fair!)! Haha! At least I still got paid!! Here is my 2 Hour Delay Outfit!

  1. I think it's totally normal to worry, sometimes I think I worry less than I should, which isn't necessarily normal either. Glad you've been able to sub! Have you thought about having the principals you summed for long term write a letter of remediation for you to add to your file? Maybe an opening will even come up in a school you've subbed at and you'll have a in??? I'm sure you'll get a job, what's not to like about you!

  4. From one worrier to another... it's all going to work out! I would certainly recommend getting your applications in now. My principal has received a few already! Set yourself up and set yourself apart. Keep smiling and stay positive. Every school is looking for a cheerful & reliable person. I'll be sending you positive vibes!

  5. Oh girl, i'm a worrier too! i worry about everything...and i think a lot of girls do, so you're not alone.
I can't believe she carried you at graduation that is amazing! :) :)
I think being a worrier we get sick of hearing "it will all work out, calm down"....we know it will but that doesn't stop us from consuming ourselves with frustration, fear, and uncertainty. The best thing you can do is take each problem as it comes and work towards them one step at a time!

  7. I love the pink! At least you got to make things a little more cheery even if you couldn't have a snow day. I'm finishing up grad school right now and doing the occupational therapy equivalent of student teaching so I know what you mean about worrying! I'm hoping I have a full-time job I love by this time next year, but the uncertainty always sucks. I'm sure things will work out for you!

  8. Aww try not to worry! Things will work out! While I say that, I'm in the same boat. =) I need to get my ESOL endorsement and if my state testing scores aren't up to par, I'm worried I'll be the first one they cut if attendance isn't up. =/ Its scary!

I adore your outfit! That bright pink jacket is perfect for a snowy day!
