Fall Favorites/Crazy Hair Day

Two of my fall favorites include leopard flats and a puffy vest!!! That's exactly what I wore on this foggy fall day. Leopard flats match everything and go with everything. Anything that has brown and black will look great with anything! I have always wanted a puffer vest and I spotted this one on Ebay for a great deal, so I had to have it. Today was "Crazy Hair Day" for spirit week and I was dying laughing at some of the things I saw from the students. One girl made her hair into a bun to look like a birds nest and had sticks in it and a bird pinned to it. It was awesome! There was a lot of different wigs and hair paint. Another one I loved was this girl's hair was all pink and she has pink sparkly pipe cleaners sticking out all over her head. It almost poked my eye during computer class. Ha!! Anything pink with sparkles, I love! I went for a cute look, but something I would never wear on a normal day. People said I looked like "Minny Mouse" or "Pebbles". It was fun!

I LOVE this Maxi Skirt!

I know I just wore this skirt the other day, but I just had to wear it again. I love it so much and the color is awesome! I got so many compliments on my outfit today and my hair because I got it trimmed and my gray hairs colored yesterday! I felt like a new woman. My hair stylist is AMAZING! Every single student noticed my hair. It was so funny!! "Miss D did you dye your hair black?", "Miss D your hair looks different!", or my favorite "Your hair looks purple and red in the light!". Kids notice EVERYTHING!

Next week is our homecoming/spirit week! We get to dress up in crazy stuff! I love it! I'm not sure if I will post my outfits next week or not. Ha! You probably don't want to see my "dress like a super hero" outfit etc. Haha!!

Blue & Gold

Today, was the first day that actually felt like Fall! Last week I was dying hot at school and today I had a heater pulled up next to my desk. Haha!! It's supposed to get hot again at the end of the week. Seriously Ohio make up your mind!!!

Our school colors are blue and gold and I told you I love showing my school spirit by not only wearing a school t-shirt. This outfit was perfect for today's chilly weather. This is what I wore today to show my school colors.

Picture Day!

Well, my computer was in the hands of the Geek Squad at Best Buy last week because it was having some issues. Good news is that I have it back now, so I can blog again! Yay!

Today is picture day at school and I have been trying to plan the perfect classy outfit all weekend because our school picture goes on our teacher badges. I can't wait to have a teacher badge! I was trying to get my hair trimmed and colored before picture day, but the earliest opening they had was this Wednesday. At least my gray hairs will be freshly colored for the wedding I'm in in a couple of weeks. Did/Do you plan your outfits WAY in advance for picture days at school? I remember one year when I was in 3rd grade, I thought it was picture day at school when picture day was the following day and I was so embarrassed because I curled my hair and wore a dress and I couldn't wear the same thing two days in a row. It was a major dilemma. Ha!

 This weekend, one of my absolute favorite bloggers and great friend had a birthday and she got engaged to the man of her dreams!! I'm so beyond happy for Renee!!! Dollar General Dress!!

I have a student in one of my classes who can't have any sticky candy, so after school last week I was on the hunt for candy that isn't sticky! I stopped at Dollar General because it's near my house and on my way home. I ended up getting pixy sticks, sweet tarts, and assorted chocolates. I think those aren't sticky right? Do any of you teachers have problems finding things all of your students can have or aren't allergic to?

Well, while I was at Dollar General I saw some SUPER CUTE maxi dresses and skirts. This one caught my eye and I just added a belt and I love it. It is so comfortable to teach in, especially when it's been so hot. I also love saying I got it at Dollar General even though it wasn't $1 it was actually $5, but that's a steal to me.

Show your School Spirit!

Everyone keeps talking about summer ending, but I don't believe it. The past few days we have had unbearable heat during the school day. We had a heat advisory yesterday until 8pm. Our pricipal was so kind and allowed us to dress as comfortably as possible while teaching yesterday and today. I'm sure you've read in many posts how we don't have air conditioning. We had some fun with it and a few teachers wore hawaiian shirts and a couple of us wore leighs around our neck because we imagined we were in Hawaii...we wish. Ha.

Well, now that I'm officially part of one school I can start wearing school colors and school t-shirts. I always loved showing my school spirit in High School. My friends and I would go all out on Fridays. We made spirit jeans and everything. It was a lot of fun. My school's colors are blue and gold, so I find myself wearing more of those colors and buying clothes of those colors lately. Every Friday during football season we are supposed to show our school spirit and wear blue and gold. Sometimes I get tired of wearing the t-shirts over and over again since I only have two so far, so I can still wear the school colors without wearing the t-shirt.

My Obsession with my Dog!

Who doesn't have clothes with their dog on it right?? Ha. I saw this on the Love Culture website and had to have it. It's called Puppy Love Tunic and thats exactly what I have for baby Bear...puppy love. I'm obsessed with my black lab. I look forward to coming home to his face everyday. It's just like in this commercial...

Does anyone else feel this way about coming home to their dogs or puppies? I love when Bear is so happy to see me. It's the best feeling ever.

Silence is Golden...

You could definitely tell it had been a four day weekend for the students today because it was extremely quiet in the classes. They got a lot of rest, which they needed after all of the hard work they have already done coming back to school. It's crazy how many pre-tests they had to take and the tests I administered all of last week to all of the students and they are only in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I have always hated tests, so I just felt so badly for them. They deserve an ice cream party after all of those tests!!! We will see how they act the rest of the week, but the silence is golden right now :)

Labor Day/Fair Weekend!

When it's fair time in our town, a lot of our students show animals or are in the fair for something, so we usually get a day off of school for it. When I was in school we had the entire Fair week off. Now they only get one day, so I had a four day weekend since it was Labor Day weekend too. I hope everyone else enjoyed a three day weekend at least! On Friday night, I went to the Fair with my parents, Nan, and Wally to eat fair food and watch my cousin in the "Battle of the Barrels" and "Free Style" with her horse. It was so much fun. 

 What is your favorite fair food? Mine is caramel apples!!

My cousin Emily and her horse Reno! She won the Free Style while we were there and she won SO many other events during the week. She is one talented girl and Reno is a talented horse.

On Sunday, my grandpa threw a surprise birthday party for my grandma. My Dad came up from Texas for it. It was so good to see him, my brother, my cousins, aunts, uncles, and of course the birthday girl and my grandpa. They had her picture on all of the napkins and posters. Ha ha. Wally came with me too. It was a great time.
