Lake/Easter Weekend!

I have been so busy enjoying every minute of this Spring Break!! The past few days I was at the lake with my mom and Nan! We had such a great time together! We went shopping, had some amazing dinners/lunches out, and enjoyed the amazing view that we don't get at home! The lake still had some ice, but  there were many spots where the ducks, geese, and swans were swimming in the water (with no ice)!! The weather was beautiful while we were there, which means Spring is here and Summer is on it's way!! We loved watching the geese walk across the ice and sometimes fall through the ice! Haha!

We got home yesterday and I was SOOOO excited to see my baby bear!!! He was waiting at the door for me!!!

My brother is home for the Easter weekend!! Today it's in the high 50's, which is warm to me!!! I'm loving it!! Every Easter, at our local fairgrounds, a sand sculptor (Roger Powell) does an AMAZING sand sculpture of Jesus dying on the cross and many other religious scenes! Today it was jam packed with people wanting to see it! He never fails because it was spectacular as always! It almost brings tears to your eyes how beautiful it is.

 "Welcome To The Common Ground"

"With God all things are possible." This was in honor of those suffering and fighting cancer.

"May you come to realize that insignificant as you may seem in this great universe, you are an important part of God's plan." This was in honor of our U.S. Military. Off to the right is the sculptor.

I got this Blue Fleece Double-Breasted Coat from Kohls for 20 cents after Christmas (sorry I had to brag)!!!! Similar to this for $27.80.
I'm going to dinner with my family tonight, so my outfit had to be classy and comfy for walking around the fairgrounds and for going to a nice dinner. What are you all up to this Easter weekend? Do you have any traditions??

I have seen so many classy bloggers wearing white pants lately and it made me want to get mine out, so why not the first day of Spring Break??? Well, yesterday was the final day of subbing this week before break and I got to color eggs with the kids, which was so much fun!! Surprisingly they did a good job (meaning no broken eggs)!! Yay!!! I enjoyed sleeping in and waking up to the sun shining today! It's been a great first day of break! I baked some apple turnovers for breakfast (breakfast of champions)! I'm such a sweet tooth, so I had about three..oops!! Ha! Now, I'm packing and heading to the lake for a few days with my mom! Nan is planning some fun things for us to do while we are there! I'm excited, but of course I will miss my baby Bear. Have a wonderful Wednesday!!

Friday Fun!

Yesterday, I was subbing for a reading intervention teacher and honestly, every time I sub for an intervention teacher I am so bored!! They have so much down time! She had planning time at the end of the day for an hour and fifty minutes!!! She had things for me to do and I did them, but I still had so much time left. She has planning time with many teachers on Fridays too, which were supposed to be 50 minutes each and oh my goodness they lasted 5!! Let's just say, it was a very relaxing Friday at work. Haha!

Last night, Wally was helping out with a Pheasants Forever Banquet. He is a part of the organization. Now, I think I've told you all before, but he is a big hunter. He has hunted with his family since he was 4 years old, so this is pretty important to him. I wasn't so sure about it (I'm clearly not a hunting fan), but I surprisingly had a great time! I had a hard time figuring out what people wear to an event like that, but I think I chose the perfect outfit. Everyone was in jeans and nice shirts or tops. Yay!! I wish I would have gotten a picture with Wally (he looked so handsome), but he was so busy that I only got to eat with him and chat with him for a few minutes here and there. I was so proud to call him my man, seeing him running around helping everywhere he was needed. He's the best! This is what I ended up wearing and I guess everyone kept telling Wally how cute his girlfriend was. Haha! He kept telling me I looked beautiful too (brownie points for him)!!

As you can see it was so bright and sunny! I'm squinting and trying so hard not to close my eyes! :)
Pale Pink Layered Necklace from Forever 21 (Birthday present) and only comes in Fuchsia now for $6.80!
Khaki Blazer from Forever 21 (last year) similar to this for $32.80!
Lace Collared Blouse from TJ Maxx (this year) similar to this for $27.99 with extra 20% off!!
Big Star BKE Jeans from The Buckle (last year) similar to these for $69.97.
Chestnut Boots from Charlotte Russe (old) similar to these super cute ones for $17.25!!!

Here is a picture of the first time I went hunting with Wally, which was this past Fall! I was freezing my buns off!! Still not a big fan of waking up super early and sitting alone in the quiet, dark, freezing cold woods (So scary!!). I made the best of it though and there were some positives about it. I loved watching the sunrise and listening for sounds of animals! I tried making camo look cute! haha!

Dreaming of the Beach!

Spring Break is next week for all of the kiddo's around here, so I'm constantly hearing about teachers going to Florida and students going to Disney World or on a cruise!! I am BEYOND jealous!!! I keep telling them to pack me in their suitcases, so I can come too!!! They laugh at me, but I'm SERIOUS!!! I'm excited for Spring Break, but I'm not going anywhere fun! I would love to escape this freezing cold weather and go on vacation!! I'm already on Spring Break mode because I honestly didn't want to do anything to my hair today and I have been so tired. I'm ready for a break! Anyone else ever have those days of not doing anything to your hair? Haha! Also, you can tell I need a vacation by the nautical, beachy things I wore today! TAKE ME TO THE BEACH! :)

I received my giveaway prize/ birthday present from the beautiful Lindsey and Amanda at Oh Buoy Boston in the mail yesterday!! They are so sweet and I absolutely LOVE my Edgartown Bracelet!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Girl's Week!!

Sunday morning my Step-Dad (Pat) left for a business trip to New Orleans. I have since regretted going with him to enjoy 70-80 degree weather because we have had snow and freezing rain!! We had an unexpected snow/freezing rain day yesterday. It was nice to have a day off though because I got a lot of stuff done and even took a workout class in the evening! The class was called "Booty Beats" and it was so fun and I was disgustingly sweaty afterwards (kind of a good thing I guess). Since Pat left and doesn't get home until Friday it's a girl's week with my mom!! So far we have enjoyed the season premier of "Dancing with the Stars" and have had some yummy girl dinners!! It's always fun to have girl time and my mom is my best friend, so it makes this week even better!! I hope everyone else is having a wonderful week? 4-day week for me and Spring Break is next week!! Yay!!

Another Wonderful Birthday!

First thing when I woke up on my Birthday, I walked downstairs and Pat (my amazing step-dad) walked through the door with balloons!!! I was so surprised!! It was a wonderful start to my day! He got zebra balloons (I love animal print!!)!

I got on Instagram and found that many of my friends were posting throwbacks of me just for my Birthday! I have some pretty awesome friends!!! Here are some of them.

Then, it was off to one of my very best friend's bridal shower!!! It was so fun to see all of my friends and celebrate the beautiful Bride-to-Be (Whitney)!! They were so sweet and sang "Happy Birthday" to me and made me blow out a candle on a cupcake. Haha!

After the shower, I went to dinner with my family and Wally! My brother Tommy came home for my Birthday! It was so special! We went to a restaurant called "The Whistle Stop Inn", which used to be a train station and now it's a restaurant. Trains go by almost every 5 minutes, both ways! It's so fun and they have wonderful food!! They of course sang to me again and gave me a small cake to share with everyone. Haha!

When we went home we had my mom's amazing "Strawberry Pie" as my birthday cake! I'm not a big cake fan, unless its Wedding Cake. Haha! I have no idea why it's so good at weddings and not when I bake it! I'm weird. :)

It was a wonderful Birthday!!!! I am truly blessed!! Here is what I wore!! I had to wear my new floral pants!! You can't see the colors very well because it's so bright!

It's My Birthday!!!!

Yesterday was my last day of my two week subbing job with the first graders. We celebrated St. Patrick's Day!! We had so much fun graphing with Lucky Charms (and eating them), reading stories about leprechauns, and writing about how we would catch a leprechaun. Also, we did a maze that lead the leprechaun to the pot of gold!! It was an exciting Friday! Plus they all remembered it was my birthday tomorrow from the first time I told them (1st graders have quite the memory). They all were giving me birthday hugs and saying they didn't want me to go. It was very sweet.

The night before when I was planning my St. Patrick's Day (at school) outfit, I decided to wear my early birthday present with my other green attire!! My early birthday present was my very first pair of TOMS!!! I was SO excited!!

This is what I decided to wear!!! I got lots of compliments on looking very St. Patrick's Day-ee? Haha! I loved it!! Baby Bear is ready for St. Patrick's Day too!!

Green Bib Necklace from Amazon (NOW) for $15.99
White Button Down from Wet Seal (this year) similar to this for $22.50.
Green Cardigan from Eddie Bauer (last year) similar to this for $26.94.
Dark Skinny Jeans fro Forever 21 (NOW) for $19.80!
Matallic Dot Brown TOMS (NOW) for $60.

Aren't my TOMS beautiful? I'm obsessed because not only are they polka dot, but they are sparkly too!! I had my green and I had my gold!! :)

I'm already being spoiled on this Birthday of mine!! I had flowers sent to me all the way from my step-mom, and half brothers from Texas!!! They are too sweet!!! Love them so much!! Look how colorful and cheerful they are? They started my day with a smile!

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!!!! I know I will!! I'm about to go to my beautiful friend, Whitney's Bridal Shower and I'll get to see all of my lovely friends!! If you didn't already know it's very hard these days to get us all together, so I'm pretty excited! I have missed them like crazy!

"You Look Cheerful Today!"

As soon as I walked down the hallway this morning, the first teacher I saw said "I love your bright colors! You look so cheerful today!". I just absolutely love compliments! They make your entire day better! Well, it's my birthday week, so it's pretty hard to ruin my good mood! :) Every year in school, when I was younger it was testing week on the week of my birthday. Whether it was the CAT test in 3rd grade, the Proficiency Tests in many grades, or the OGT's, it was always a week of tests and it always landed around my birthday. Boooo! Well, it will never escape me because this week is testing week for these 1st graders. They have a different test every day because Grade Cards go out next week. I feel so bad for these kiddos, so I give them lots of brain breaks and wiggle time in between. I try to look as cheerful and excited as possible for them!!

Minty Monday

Since St. Patrick's Day is this coming Sunday, I decided to add some green to my outfits this week. Today, I went with a mint collared cardigan! I love how fresh and Springy it looks!!! Especially because it poured down rain all day. I needed something to brighten my day! Not only was it raining, but it was so windy! My umbrella blew inside out about two or three times walking into school and walking my kids out of school. I used to think it was SO funny watching umbrellas blow inside out, until I went to Bowling Green State University. They are known for their strong winds. We called it "BG Winds". Haha! It was almost unreal how many umbrellas I broke during my four years of college there!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday!! Are you adding any green to your wardrobe this week? One Week Until I'm 23!!!

My favorite quote: "Live everyday like it's your last."

Since my birthday is in one week, it reminds me of this quote and that life is too short! We need to enjoy every moment!! We aren't getting any younger!! Haha! Do you have a quote that you love or live by?

Today was a very fun day! My mom and I went shopping! I had to get a Bridal Shower gift for one of my best friend's shower next weekend! Also, I was looking for some green to wear this week since St. Patrick's Day is so soon! The stores were packed and everyone seemed happy!! :) I don't usually notice people being happy and friendly unless it's Christmas time or if the weather is getting warmer, which it is!! Today, it was in the 50's and sunny (not that warm but I'll take it)!! All I wanted to do was go out and enjoy it! Also, we went to dinner in Perrysburg, which is about 30 minutes away. You Can Have It All, With the 7 Habits!

All week long I have had this song stuck in my head! The two schools I have spent a lot of time in have been using "The 7 Habits" all year this year. It's a great way to show students how to act in school and habits they need to have!! They have done wonders to these students. They do so many incentives for the students that use these habits. For example, I got to pick a student from the class who was using one of the habits all week long, to go eat lunch with a friend at "The Table of Honor". I guess it's something they do every Friday! It's so sweet! They also get stickers if a teachers sees them using one of the habits and it says "Ask me how I was (insert habit)!". The students LOVE it!

The 7 Habits:
1. Be Proactive
2. Begin With the End in Mind
3. Put First Things First
4. Think Win-Win
5. Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood
6. Synergize
7. Sharpen the Saw

Well, now there is a song that a girl sings about "The 7 Habits" and it's to Adele's song "Rolling In The Deep", which is such a catchy song already. Now, I can't stop singing "The 7 Habits" version. Check it out here!!! I promise it will be stuck in your head too!! Haha!! The students already know every single word! They love it!! I'm not that good yet. :)

Here is my fab Friday jeans day outfit!!!

I Worry Too Much!

One of the worst habits that I have is worrying too much! I worry about a lot of things and then I think back and ask myself, "Why was I so worried?". My worry usually leads to stress and my stress leads to an emotional break down (YES I'M A GIRL! Haha!). Do any of you have the same problem?

Things that I am worried about recently:
1. Being a good MOH- I am the maid of honor for my very best friend who I have known for 17 years!! We grew up across the street from each other! We went to the same college and were roommates. We have been through everything together. Now, I get to watch her become a wife (Wow! I'm tearing up just talking about it! I'm such a girl!). I worry about if my speech will be good enough or if I'll cry the entire time and no one will understand a word of it (I hate giving speeches unless it's to 20+ little kids! Haha!), if I am doing enough for her, if I'm doing a good job, etc. I've never done this before and I want everything to be perfect for her. Any advice from experienced MOH's??

She carried me down the aisle at our graduation!

2. Being a good substitute teacher- I have seen that teachers fill out evaluations about substitute teachers, but we never get to see them! I always wish I knew if they thought I did a good job or what I could do better. The only way I know is if they request me to sub for them again or they tell me I'm doing a good job. I'm a person who NEEDS feedback!!!! Do I worry too much?

3. Finding a teaching job- It's getting to be that time of year again, where I need to start filling out applications (my favorite..NOT). I worry so much that I won't get a job. The teaching world is so hard! In the state of Ohio, they keep changing things, where we need more and more to be qualified to teach. Now, they say you need a Reading Endorsement. Do I go back to school for it or do I wait? I already went back and got the 4th and 5th Grade Endorsement, so I'm certified to teach Pre-K through 5th grade now! I thought that would help me get a job, but now I don't know because of this Reading Endorsement thing. I honestly can say I am so glad I subbed this year, for sure!! It has honestly made me a better teacher all around and has exposed me to so many more schools, experiences, and different ways of teaching!! I have LOVED it!!! I'm ready to have my own classroom though! I hope I find a job...

4. Not knowing what the future holds- I worry so much about not knowing what the future will bring. Where will I get a job? Will I get a job? If so, what grade will I teach? Will I be subbing again next year? Will I have to move? Will Colin get a good job and have to move? The list goes on...

Okay enough of my worrying..I'm sorry for venting about my worries. Sometimes it feels good to tell someone or my blogger friends. Thank you for listening. By the way, every school around here had a snow day except our city schools (It's not fair!)! Haha! At least I still got paid!! Here is my 2 Hour Delay Outfit!

Boring or Classy?

During the winter, I feel like all of my clothes are just black or gray. I feel like black never washes you out, which is good for the winter time. Black and gray go with practically everything! Sometimes, I just wonder why did I buy another black sweater or black dress? Haha! Does anyone ever feel like this in the winter time? I know many bloggers who have looked so sleek and classy in black. I feel like adding one pop of color, at least, adds a lot to a black and white outfit. What do you think about all black, white, or gray outfits? Classy? Or boring?

Turquoise beaded necklace from Forever 21 (few years ago) similar to this one for $5.80.

Lake Visit/ 2 Week Teaching Job!!

Sunday, we went to the lake to visit Nan! It was a relaxing day and nice to get away for the day. Do you ever feel like you need to get away for a day, just drive and go somewhere out of town? It was cloudy and muddy here and as we got farther away it was getting so sunny!! It was beautiful and even though it was sunny, the lake had snow on the ground and the lake was still all the way iced over. Here is my comfy, driving, relaxing outfit for the day away.

We saw people ice fishing on the lake with their little tents!!

Bear LOVES car rides! He sleeps the whole time! I wish it was that easy for me to sleep in the car! Haha!

Last week I was asked, by the principal (That's kind of a big deal I think. Ha!), to sub for two weeks in a first grade classroom. Today was my first day of the two weeks and the class is so sweet and the teachers are extremely nice! It will be a wonderful two weeks, I can already tell!!! It's so great being in the same classroom and same school for more than just one day!! How is everyone else's week starting off? Hopefully great!!!

It's My Birthday Month!!

Yay! It's March (my Birthday month) and that means Spring is almost here! I do remember the past four years it was very nice weather on my birthday, so hopefully that luck doesn't change this year. I also remember being in school as a child and it being a snow day on my Birthday (worst thing ever because I loved seeing my friends at school on my birthday). March in Ohio is always an unpredictable month, you never know if it will get warmer or just continue to be cold. How about this FAB green shoe for the month of March??

Today I had a lovely afternoon with one of my best friends, Nikki!! We started dance classes together when we were 4 years old! We are still such great friends! This is what I wore!! I hope everyone else is having a wonderful Saturday!! Is anyone rocking the color green in their wardrobe already for the month of March?? I will be soon!!
