Baby It's Cold Outside!

It's been so gosh darn cold the past few weeks that I haven't taken any pictures outside. Sorry for all of the inside pictures. It's crazy! We have had so many school closings and delays. I'm ready for some Spring weather to happen anytime now! How about you?

It's supposed to snow AGAIN this weekend....when will it stop?

A couple of weekends ago, I got to catch up with a few of my friends in some snowy weather. We had coffee at a local coffee shop. Here is what I wore:

 J. Crew Herringbone Vest from Poshmark you can find some on ebay or Poshmark.
Gray and Coral striped sweater from Forever 21 similar to this for $15.
Denim Chambray from Old Navy similar to this for $24.95.
Black pants from TJ Maxx similar to these for $19.80.
Brown and Black Boots from Kohl's similar to these for $39.99.
Necklace from Amazon for $12.59.

This past weekend, one of my best friends asked me to go thrift shopping. I was so excited because I have never been!!! Can you believe it? I have always wanted to, but I just needed someone to say hey let's go. I'm so glad I went! We got some great things for some great deals and I told her we have to do it more often!! I can't wait to go again!

I wore my favorite Goodwill find yesterday! Lucky Brand skinny jeans that I got for $5.50!!
Black and White plaid shirt from Love Culture similar to this for $22.99.
Neon Lace Sweater from Forever 21 similar to this for $29.94.
Lucky Brand Jeans from Goodwill $5.50.
Black Boots from JustFab similar to these for $32.80.
My necklace is on repeat from Amazon for $12.59.
I had to brighten up these dreary winter days.

I found this wreath on Etsy that I loved, but it's $60+. It looks so simple to make.
I saw Hobby Lobby was having a huge sale and I found this exact chevron burlap for $2.99 a roll. Then, they had a wire wreath from for $1.89 and hot pink tropical flowers for $3.99 for a bundle.
I watched many YouTube tutorials on how to make burlap wreaths. During one of my snow days this week, I decided to try and make my first burlap wreath.

I was pretty proud of the finished product. The perfect wreath for Valentine's Day, spring, and summer! It was a successful snow day.

Have a great weekend everyone! Next week is Valentine's Day week!! I can't wait to see what you all will be wearing! :)

Animal Print Day! RAWR!

All day I had Katy Perry's song in my head "and your gonna hear me roar..". This was my favorite spirit day because I love all things animal print. I couldn't decide on whether to wear zebra or cheetah print, but I ended up wearing cheetah. Everyone said I looked so cute and I was like WHAT? Not a single cheetah print I wore, matched. Haha! Oh well! I rocked it!

RAWR!
Because of the freezing temperatures, I did wear boots to school. Once I got to school, I changed into my Lauren Conrad leopard flats for the day. I enjoyed being a Cheetah Girl today! Ha!

I just love Spirit Week! We needed something to brighten up our days. This weather is really taking a lot out of us. The winter blues...  :)

I hope you all are staying warm in this cold weather!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

No school today, so I'm catching you all up on my wonderful weekend! At the end of last week, I read the story "Martin's Big Words" to my students (It's one of my favorites!!). Then, I had them write about dreams they may have for themselves, for the future, or for the world. Some of my students got pretty creative. For example, "I have a dream, that everything would be pink even my skin. Hot-dogs would be pink too." Haha!! Another student said, "I have a dream that things will cost less money in the future (spelled fuchuer)." <-- Amen to that!

On Friday night, I went ice-skating with Wally and two other couples! I haven't been ice-skating in 6 years, so I was pretty rusty. I'm glad to say I never fell (thank goodness)!

On Saturday, I went to a casual dinner with my parents. This is what I wore:

Black scarf from Forever 21 similar to this for $10.
Red, white, and navy plaid button down from TJ Maxx similar to this for $19.80.
Cream Sweater from Old Navy similar to this one for $15.
Forever 21 skinny jeans similar to these for $7.80.
Knit Legwarmers (Christmas gift) similar to these for $10.
Navy Bamboo Rain/snow boots from Ebay same ones here for $39.

How beautiful is this arm candy Wally gave me on Friday, just because. He's so sweet!

On Sunday, Wally's family had a fish fry. His dad puts on the best fish fry's. Wally, his dad, and his uncle catch all the fish in Lake Erie and they catch enough to have fish fry's all year long. YUM! It was delicious!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Cozy Sweater Monday!

Today, was the first full day back to school since Christmas Break! I was well rested until my alarm went off at 6:30am. I haven't woken up that early in three weeks. Ha! Only in Ohio does it flood one week, blizzard the next with below zero temperatures, and now its in the 50's and raining. I stood outside with my after school program students with just this cozy sweater on and it felt great. It almost feels like Spring. :) Some people took the warmer temperatures too far though. My mom and I saw a few people shopping this weekend in shorts. Eeek! It's not that warm people!

Well, tomorrow I'm going to a computer geek conference in Columbus! Ha! I'm excited to better my technology teaching skills. I'm very anxious to learn more ways to use the school iPads and iPods with my students.

Red scarf off Poshmark similar to this one for $3.75!!! What a steal!
Black and White Open Cardigan Sweater from Kohl's for $39.99.
Black Knit Pants from TJ Maxx similar to these for $29.99.
Brown and Black Boots from Kohl's similar to these for $39.99.

I hope you had a wonderful Monday!!!

Pinned It & Did It- My Favorite Christmas Present!

pinneditanddidit

This is my first post in the year 2014! I can't believe it's been that long since I last posted. I hope everyone had a great New Years celebration. Wally had the flu, so we watched movies on the couch. After, Wally had the flu my brother had the flu and then my step-dad had the flu. I heard it was going around, but I didn't think it'd be all around me. My step-dad, Pat is just now getting over it, so I think my mom and I are in the clear (crossing my fingers I don't get sick). We have been washing our hands and using Lysol wipes to wipe down everything. Make sure you are taking your vitamins, this flu seems pretty nasty and lasting for days.
This past weekend we had A LOT of snow. We were supposed to go back to school on Monday, but we had a snow day. We had a snow day Tuesday and Wednesday as well. I was going a little stir crazy stuck in my house with all the flu germs. Today, we had a 2-hour delay and I was so happy to be going back to school to see all of my students! The roads were still pretty slippery and snowy though. I haven't had a chance to do an outfit post this week because I've been in my pajamas on the couch during my snow days.
Today, I finally got to put effort into what I was wearing for school. I always loved wearing my new clothes from Christmas on the first day back to school. I saw and heard about so many Christmas presents today from my students. Aside from our flood and blizzard, it seems like the kids had GREAT Christmas'. I wore my favorite Christmas present today. My J. Crew herringbone vest!!! I've been pinning SO many outfits with this vest on Pinterest, so I had to wear one today. I got lots of compliments.
I'm linking up with the fabulous Heather from Style Journey for the Pinned It & Did It link up.
