Clearly Obsessed With Stripes!

I hope everyone had an awesome Memorial Day weekend!! I know I did!! It was a little chilly on a few of the days, but we got some boating and lake time in! I even got some tan lines, or shall I say burn lines. Oops. I continued the Memorial Day week with some red, white, and blue today. I got soooo many compliments on my outfit today. :) I have been wearing a lot of stripes lately...I think I'm a little obsessed. Ha. It was a great day.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for my first graders. I have a bunch of fun things planned, including these cute presents I got for them (beach balls). I'm planning on having them all sign each other's beach balls, kind of like a year book. It will be so fun for them. I'm going to miss this ornery class, that I've been blessed to have for the past month. I'm a little attached.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

I hope everyone has an amazing and long Memorial Day weekend!! Take some time to think about those who have fought for us and for our country. My students learned about Memorial Day this week and they all had stories to tell about their grandpas who fought and one student has a father in the army and a mother in the navy.

Well, I'm off to the lake for this long weekend! My bags are packed and Bear loves to go to the lake, so he's so excited whenever I mention the word "lake" to him. Haha. What are you all up to this weekend?

No Air Condition...Flowy Dress It Is!

Well, my classroom has no air condition and it was about 90 degrees yesterday and today. It's been so hot and sweaty with twenty kids (as you can see my hair is up and it looks like my makeup melted off). This picture was taken after school today and even though I felt pretty disgusting after sweating all day, this was the perfect outfit for the day. I loved wearing this loose and flowy little black dress today. I had to add something to make it less boring, so I put a black belt and added a flower pin to spice it up! What do you add to your little black dresses to make it less boring and plain?

Tomorrow is Field Day for the kids, so I'll be wearing cool and comfy clothes! Only a few days left of school, which means lots of fun things planned for the kids!

A Beautiful Wedding!

Well, it's the beginning of wedding season and I attended the first wedding of the season yesterday. I had so much fun celebrating the marriage of two great friends, Whitney and Keith! They had the most beautiful ceremony outside with perfect weather. The reception was filled with laughter and dancing with so many friends and family. They had a perfect wedding day in my eyes. Here is what I wore and some pictures of the special day! Does anyone else try to dress to match the wedding colors or is it just me? Their theme was nautical with navy and coral colors. It was a gorgeous color scheme.

Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommy bloggers!! I spoiled my mom yesterday with some cute finds from TJ Maxx!! She absolutely loved them! This past week at school we made some cute Mother's Day crafts. I kind of got the idea from two different pins from Pinterest. They turned out SOOO cute!! We had a Mother's Day Tea Party on Friday and all of the moms and grandmas came in to the class. I have a student who is allergic to eggs, so I had to think of some treat that he could have and wouldn't feel left out. Cookies and cakes have egg in them, so I had to get creative. I thought for awhile and then it popped into my head RICE CRISPY TREATS!! Who doesn't love those? It was a hit! They all loved them and I got juice boxes too. I had the students write a short book about their moms or grandmas, why they love them, thanking them, etc. They each got up and read them to all of our guests and the class. It was so sweet and funny too. One child wrote, "My mom loves to eat Doritos." Haha. I loved hearing what they wrote.

Happy Mother's Day!

KISS Day!

First of all, Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all of my teacher bloggers!!!!!

Today, at school it was KISS (Kids Invite Someone Special) Day. All of the students bring someone special to have lunch with them, do fun activities together, and perform for them a the end of the day and in the evening. My students had a blast. Being first graders, this was their first KISS Day (as well as mine). :) They were so proud to have their special someone with them. They brought moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, etc. Their performance tonight was SO cute too. They did such a great job! I'm a proud teacher!

Kentucky Derby Bachelorette Party!

Sooo..having two weddings two weeks apart means that bridal showers and bachelorette parties will be close to each other. The bachelorette parties were back-to-back weekends. I was SO sick last weekend (I still had fun though and I'm so glad I went), so I made sure to rest all week this week for this weekend. I didn't want to be sick again. I would come home from school this week and just fall right asleep and I'm not a person who takes naps EVER! I just can't take naps. I'm bad at it (if that's possible). Ha. Well, I felt like I rose from the dead on Friday and felt so much better. I still have a little bit of a cough, but I don't need medicine anymore, which is great because I don't like taking medicine  at all!

This Bachelorette Party was so much fun! It fell on the same day as the Kentucky Derby, so it was Kentucky Derby theme! We wore the big hats, drank pink champagne, got a limo, and went to the casino (My FIRST time!).
