Pinterest!!!

My blog is finally on Pinterest!!!!! You should go follow Classy In The Classroom!!! I know some people have been asking if I have a Pinterest for my blog because they don't always check their email for my blog posts as often as they get on Pinterest. Testing for this week is finally done! Yay (celebration dance)!!! Tomorrow is our last day of school before Spring Break and it's pajama day!!!! I can't wait to go to school in my pajamas. I'm especially excited because it's supposed to rain and there is nothing I love more than being in my pajamas on a rainy day. :)

Busy Week!

This week we are doing our school wide DIBELS testing, which is done by the Title Teachers. I get so nervous for my students because I know they have worked so hard this year with me and I have prepared them the best I could for this assessment. As a child, I always had test taking anxiety and would get so nervous. I hated taking tests, so I feel badly for my students. Every student that I test, I try to make them feel comfortable and laugh a little before we actually start the assessment to make them less nervous.

Before school started yesterday, we did the "Cupid Shuffle" with the all of the students and some staff members in our Library. It definitely started their day and my day off on the right foot. We call it "Dance Party Day" and I just love that the students look forward to it when coming to school in the morning. It's so fun dancing with them! This also got their minds off all of the tests they have this week, since it's the week before Spring Break. It's a big week full of tests for the students.

NE Ohio Teacher Blogger Meet-Up!

This past weekend I went to my first blogger meet-up! It was hosted by the lovely Tammy from O-H So Blessed. I was so excited because I had never been to one and I was going to meet some of my favorite bloggers!!! We met at Cheesecake Factory for lunch! I had so much fun and it felt like I had known everyone for way longer. I also met some bloggers that I didn't know before. Everyone was so sweet. After it was over, I felt so refreshed and ready for a great week of teaching. Being around friends that love teaching just as much as you do, is so AWESOME. It made me love teaching even more. I can't wait for the next meet-up!!!!!

Spring Is Almost Here!

Yesterday it got to 54, which is pretty warm for the freezing winter we have had. All of the students wanted to take their coats off for recess...I think they were a little too excited (it wasn't that warm). It was beautiful and sunny too! I enjoyed wearing bright colors on the spring-like day! Today is supposed to be warm too...but it's rainy. Bear is definitely enjoying the warmer weather too.

My Happy Birthday and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I had the best birthday weekend and it even continued to today. I always have loved St. Patrick's Day because my birthday is the day before. My mom always tells me the story of how when little baby girls were born they would put a pink bow in their hair or on their head. I was special and had a green bow in my hair because I was born the day before St. Patrick's Day!!

My birthday celebrations started on Friday when I received flowers from a teacher and a gift from another teacher. That evening I went to our local Irish restaurant/bar called Logan's with two other teachers that I work with! It was delish! Then, we went to see a lot of our students perform in the musical "Aladdin", which I love all Disney movies so I was so excited. It was so cute and the students loved that we came! I almost broke out into song during "A Whole New World". Ha!

Sunday was my 24th Birthday! I went shopping with my mom for some spring clothes, which I have no idea when I will be able to wear them because it's not getting any warmer! Ha! Then, my parents, Wally, and I went to Olive Garden for dinner. Finally, they sang to me and I blew out the candles on a chocolate covered strawberry cheesecake, which was the best thing I had ever eaten!!!! My mom found the recipe on Pinterest. I had a very blessed birthday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!! I went to school all decked out in green and clovers with birthday treats to share with my students. When I arrived to my classroom there were streamers, banners, decorations all over the room for St. Patrick's Day and my birthday! Some teachers had people bring in green foods too. The teachers at my school are so sweet. I LOVE my job!

Pattern Mixing and Sequins!

The Style Me March Challenge called for "A Little Sparkle". I love sparkles, so I might have done more than a little. Ha! It was in the 50's today!!!! I didn't even need a coat! I wore flats instead of boots and my feet weren't freezing!!! I was so excited!!!! Oh and that is absolutely grass behind me in the picture! I told some of my students I forgot what grass looked like this winter because snow covered the ground for SO long! They laughed and tried to describe it to me.

Today I was observed by my mentor, so I had to dress professional and still cute. I do that anyways, but today I spent a little extra time picking my outfit. I think it went really well. She told me I did a good job and she was shocked at how much I get done with the students in the short amount of time that I have them. :)

Wedding Season Is Beginning!

Wedding Season is beginning again because I has a bridal shower for one of my best friend's yesterday. It was so fun! It was at an old fashioned tea room, called Swan House. We drank tea and wore fun, old hats. I love anything old fashioned! I always tell people I was born in the wrong era! Here is what I wore to the shower...

Never Ending Winter.

Pulling my vest out, yet another time because it snowed again. My step dad is in Atlanta, GA for the week and he keeps teasing us with their sunny and 60-70 degree weather each day. Pretty jealous!!!! It's hard to believe that spring break is in a few weeks. This school year has flown by. I just got in touch with the girls I nanny'd for last summer and they want me to nanny again this summer. I'm really excited!!! I can't wait for another fun summer with those girls!

Mardi Gras!!

Yesterday was Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday! We started the day by eating paczki's! I chose apple filled and it was delicious! I had never had one before and I'm not sure why. They are SO good. Then, we had jambalaya for lunch and king cake. YUM!

There was a Mardi Gras luncheon that some of the students attended for earning beads for the books that they read in February. They earned beads and some earned masks. I think they had a lot of the fun.

Last week I wore this outfit and I loved it, but I had such a crazy busy week I didn't have time to post. I had a meeting before school or after school every day. It was busy! The day I wore this outfit it snowed and I was like maybe this wasn't the right shoe choice. Ha! Oops! I think we all are desperate for some Spring weather around here, so people are starting to wear less clothing even though it's still snowing and freezing. This results in people getting sick...we have had a lot of students out lately and Wally even came down with a bad cold. He has been sick so much this year with his new job where he works 12-hour shifts. I told him he needs to be done being sick. Ha!

Spring Plaid!

Yesterday was day three of the Style Me March Challenge and it was "Steal of a Deal". I decided to wear my new plaid shirt that I bought at Walmart on sale for $7!!! I love that it's more of a spring colored plaid shirt. I was definitely hoping for some spring weather. It snowed once again on Sunday, but it has been sunny ever since. MELT THAT SNOW!

Yesterday we had a Celebrations Assembly for the students! We celebrated goals that were accomplished for the month of February. If a class met their monthly goal, they get to pick a cheer to do and the whole school gets up and does the cheer together for/with that class. The popular cheer today was the "Disco Cheer" and as you do the disco motion you say "That's the way uh huh uh huh! I like it uh huh uh huh!" It was very fun to celebrate our students and their accomplishments!

It's My Birthday Month!!

Happy March!!!!! It's officially my birthday month!! I decided to finally try one of those Instagram style challenges they have for each month. I started the #StyleMeMarch challenge this weekend. The first day was wear your favorite color. My favorite color is orange, but my favorite color to wear at the moment is yellow...obviously. Ha! Many of my outfit posts recently have included yellow. I spent the weekend relaxing. I went to Kohl's with my momma and Pat took us to Red Lobster for lunch on Saturday. Yum!! Sunday was spent doing some things for school and watching the Oscars!!
